Problems opening a project

I love the mindmap - I love being organised and this is organisational heaven for me.
But I have a problem when trying to open a project.
Here is what I do and what happens:-

Click Projects - Open a project - Open via a shortcut
Select the project I want to open
Right click
Choose open with and select viewer
Then I get my blue screen for my project
Then I open operations but there is no folder icon
When I click on the icon I get the message:-

'The hyperlink is broken because either the file was deleted, renamed or moved to a different folder, or the file is located on a network and the network cannot be accessed right now'

Any help for me please

Hello Sue

I assume you're using the shortcuts to open project because you own the full Mind Manager softeware.

Have you moved your IM-Index folder since you created the project?

Unfortunately shortcuts don't work when you move them.

If that is the case, you'll either have to open the projects using the "normal" method, or re-create the them manually.

The way to open projects using the "normal" method even if you own the full Mind Manager is to arrange for the default program for opening Mind Maps to be the Viewer rather than the full Mind Manager software, and then to use right-click etc. when you want to open a map with the Mind Manager.

That's what I do.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the reply but I am not sure I understand
I have an icon on my desktop which I click to open the Yellow index page
I then click on Projects - Open a project - I do not have the option to click on open a project here - there is no folder icon
There is a folder icon next to open via a shortcut - so when I click on this I get a list of my project maps - I click on the correct one and get the blue page but the I cannot open 'this project information'
I can only get my project information through where I have located the map in my hard drive
I would like to access from the map itself
Could you please explain step by step for me - I am sure its me not understanding you
I dont recall having moved anything
By the way can you change the names of the project folders without affecting anything or do you have to leave the names as they are?

I have just been following your video #2
From my mindmap I cannot create a new project - I get the message 'unable to create a project because the [new project name] folder does not exist.

Please do the following, then open a support ticket here:

Look in the main IM-Index folder, then in the Ops folder, and then in the Projects folder.
Please tell me what files and folder you see in there.
