Hi,

I have finally go round to installing IM INDEX that i purchased a few months ago.

I have installed it into an area of my drive called Work1.

After the installing which went smoothly. I then decided to download the first of the DAO downloads,
into the In Folder, after the download completed i opened the exe and it obviously did not find my
installation of the IM Index. So i used the browse button to go to my Work1 drive and selected the
IM Index and looked for a Document folder where in there. There is no Document folder in there, so
what would you suggest in how i proceed.

Many thanks

Vince

Hello Vince

When you select the folder, youi need to select the actual folder containing the IM Index information (by default called IM-Index)

For example, if you have:

C:\Documents and Settings\Vince\My Documents\Work1\IM-Index

you should have ALL of that path in the box in the DAO Installer.

Does that help?

Regards

Hi, Alex

Thanks for your fast reply...

Here is the path of where my IM Index is installed.

K:\IM-Index

with the relevant folders and files named as:
Folders:
bin
Download Records
In Folder
My IM Info
My Shortcuts
My Stuff
MyExt
Niches
Ops
Repos

Files:
IM-Index Change Log.pdf
IM-Index.mmap

Therefore, do i just let the DAO files install in the root of the IM-Index folder or do i need
to place them within one of the folders.

Sorry if i am being a bit of a muppet and for any confusion...

Hello Vince

It doesn't matter where the DAO files themselves are stored - they are just installers that get executed.

To execute a DAO installer, double click on it, and when prompted for the location of your IM-Index, enter:

K:\IM-Index

... and the installer should do all the work of putting the files into the correct folders.

If you need more clarification, just ask!

Thanks Alex, you've just answered my next query also!!
I've just downloaded the latest version and put it in N:\IMIndex in my newly formatted old external drive.
Sent you a support ticket about using the mind Map - can't get it to work.

And Hi Vince - long time no-see!
