Let me try and answer your questions.
1. I have 2 Icons on my desktop: IM Index Mind Map and Mindjet Mindmap Viewer 6. The viewer opens a blank screen while the Index opens the mindmap structure page. My question is what is the viewer for? How and what would I use it for?
The viewer is the program that runs the Mind Map. When you click on the Map icon, it runs the viewer and displays the Map. Like when you click on a Word document, it runs MS Word and displays the document. You don't need to run the viewer on its own.
2. I've also downloaded the 101 bonuses that came with this but have no idea about their use - with each one I've opened I only see a blank form!!!???
Did you run the 13 DAO Installers? If so, are you having problems opening the files that they downloaded? Please give an example of what you do when you get the blank form. What file are you trying to open?
Are there any instructions on the use of these bonuses?
To see what each of the products does, look at the Download Report: Open up the topic
Supplier Index and Download Info and look in the folder
Download Reports. The files in there are the Download Reports that were created by the DAO Installers. (I recommend you read through the Notes sections associated with the topic Supplier Index and Download Info and its sub-topics).
3. I've read a few posts and see a number of them refer to "maps" (plural) - I don't understand this at all. Are you just refering to maps that are created within the mindmap itself???
Within the Map, you will see a Projects topic. Open that up and you will see that you can create projects. Each project you create generates a new map - that's why people are talking about mapS.
4. What about the different uses or versions of this program? I read somewhere wher you can use it without purchasing??
So far, all upgrades have been free to current owners. You can't get the program without paying!
I'd appreciate more info. also on the DAO Installer. Is this just a program that sits on my computer and is used whenever I want to download something?
It best to think of DAO Installers as a technology: there is no such thing as a general "DAO Installer" - only particular DAO Installers for installing specific files. You saw this in action when you downloaded the XRP Bonus: this consisted of 13 DAO Installers, each of which installed a different collection of files that made up the 101 products.
